Tervetuloa! Welcome to Joulukuu Welcome! Welcome to December
We're going to Finland a little bit every week this month here in the Zephyr.
My mom is from Finland and never am I more half-Finnish than I am in Joulukuu,
which translates to CHRISTMAS MONTH. Joulu = Christmas Kuu = month They just go ahead and call it Christmas month.
I'm not going to make us celebrate Christmas all month in here
although I would if you were up for it but also I wouldn't because that would kill it
but we will have some Finland. It won't be all Finland but at least a good-sized splotch.
that said: this week's going to be pretty wall-to-wall about it
I'M DYING TO TELL YOU A FINNISH SWEAR I JUST LEARNED
IF YOU HATE SWEARING JUST SCROLL PAST THIS RIGHT NOW BECAUSE YOU WILL HATE THIS ONE FOR SURE ALTHOUGH YOU ACTUALLY MIGHT LOVE IT IN SPITE OF YOURSELF BUT THIS SWEAR DEFINITELY MEANS BUSINESS IT'S AMAZING BUT UH
HOWEVER, IF YOU LOVE SWEARING YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT
Here it is in Finnish: Suksi vittuun Translation pending NOW IS THE TIME FOR ACCURATE SELF-ASSESSMENT AND SELF-DISCIPLINE SCROLL PAST THE NEXT DIVIDING LINE AND IT'LL BE OVER
"go ski into a cunt"
OMG
THE DIVIDING LINE
YOU'RE SAFE
Please relax for a moment at the igloo division of the Hotel Kakslauttanen in Lapland
And now let's listen to some Sibelius a stirring section from the Karelia Suite I wonder if you'll love it as much as I do It's got a little more bombast than I usually go for
(I usually prefer my classical music to make me feel like wood nymphs are lighting candles and drawing me a bath)
but it's bright + hopeful + energizing
click this very picture for the music
the following is an experiment
